Galileo is noted as the “Father” of astronomy, physics, the scientific method, and modern science. Through observational Astronomy, he discovered the different phases of Venus, Jupiter’s four largest moons, Saturn’s rings, Moon craters, and sunspots. He perfected Copernicus’ idea of Heliocentrism but was opposed by the Catholic Church and eventually deemed a heretic.
