If you were born in the late '80s or early '90s, you probably remember specific cartoons, toys, movies, and experiences from your childhood. Because it is no longer the late '80s or early '90s, you probably haven't seen those toys and cartoons and movies for a while.
If you're in the mood to go on a nostalgia trip, you're in luck. Every photo on this list will transport you right back to a Saturday morning before you ever had to deal with work or university or adult responsibilities.
The Screen Before Every Movie
We bet you can probably hear the sound that accompanied this screen in your head right now. The trailers before the main feature were even better than the movie sometimes.
No More Tears!
These fish-shaped shampoo bottles were all the rage when we were kids. Remember the watermelon scent? They were supposed to be tear-free, but there were definitely a few tears involved.
That One Ball...
Remember bouncing this ball all over Wal-Mart but not being able to take it home? These balls had such a specific plastic smell. You'd bounce them around for a while and then put them back in the basket.
Everyone Had This Cereal Bowl
Remember these cereal bowls that had a built-in straw so you could drink up the leftover cereal milk? You thought you were the only one who had one, but then you would go to your friend's house and they'd have them too.
These Books Taught Us Everything We Know
The Eyewitness books were super educational and fun to read. There was an Eyewitness book for every subject under the sun. They were full of so many amazing pictures.
The Vibrating Water Fountain
If you had these water fountains at your school, you enjoyed some delicious cold water. There's nothing worse than drinking from a water fountain only to discover that it's warm.
Why Did Everybody Have These Shaky Bugs?
There was one of these shaky bug boxes in every home. Nobody knows where they came from. Maybe they were souvenirs from some exotic vacation location, maybe they were from a random mall.
These Flashlights That Changed Color
These flashlights were so much fun. They had these red and green bits of clear plastic that you could flip down over the light to make the light change color.
These Weirdly Ugly Disney Mugs
Disney released a whole bunch of mugs like this in the '90s. They were a little bit scary looking, but we still drank chocolate milk out of them all the time.
Bring Back Creme Savers!
These strawberries and cream flavored Creme Savers were super good. Sometimes people would have these in their lunch boxes as an after lunch snack and everybody around them would want one.
That Hose Smell
The water that you drank out of a hose just hit different. Hose water was the best on a hot summer day. It tasted way better than regular sink water.
When The Inside Of Subway Was Yellow
Most Subway restaurants have been completely renovated in recent years, but back in the '90s, they were all yellow inside. They might look better now, but we can't say we don't miss the old look.
Those Mini Cereal Boxes
Those little boxes of cereal with the sliver pouch inside tasted way better than the big boxes of cereal. Maybe it's because we associate these cereal boxes with being on vacation.
This Velcro Game
We all had this velcro ball and paddle game, but the velcro was never quite strong enough for it to work. If it did work, the velcro would get loose and it would stop working pretty quickly.
This Medicine That Tasted Super Good
This pink strawberry flavored medicine tasted way better than its banana counterpart (if you can even call it banana). Banana medicine lover, don't come for me. That yellow stuff was trash.
The Ball Room In Your School's Gym
Every school gym had a room like this attached to it that was full of balls and mats and those little butt-scooters. Only the kids that the gym teacher liked got to go into this room.
The Smell Of The Roller Skate Arena
Did you get to go to an indoor roller skating arena on a class trip? Did your teachers let you buy slushies from the concession stand after you were done skating?
Burning Mix CDs
If you're a millennial and you never made a mix CD, are you even a millennial? It was a glorious day when you realized that you could make your own CDs.
These Cardboard Bricks
It seems like everyone who was a kid in the '90s had these cardboard "bricks," which were really just cardboard boxes with a brick pattern painted onto them. They were great for building forts, though.
When Gatorade Came In Glass Bottles
This one is a deep cut for all of you older millennials out there. Remember when Gatorade came in glass bottles? This might have been before Powerade was even invented.
The Smell Of Fresh Play-Doh
There's nothing quite like opening a new container of fresh Play-Doh. The smell that wafts out of the container is indescribable, and they Play-Doh is so soft and not dried out at all (like all of your old Play-Doh).
When Strawberries Came In These Plastic Baskets
Did your mom save all of these plastic baskets that your strawberries came in so that you could use them for crafts? There aren't that many things that you can do with a plastic basket, but your mom saved them anyway.
The Prize At The Bottom
Cereal boxes were so much better when they had toys in them. Sometimes the toys weren't very good, but a lame toy is better than no toy at all. Remember when they had computer game demos in them?
The Squeaky Insides Of A VHS Box
Everyone talks about VHS tapes, but what about the boxes that those VHS tapes came in? They had the perfect squeaky plastic texture. It was kind of fun to take VHS tapes out of that packaging. There's nothing else quite like it.
These Stamp Markers
These stamp markers always dried up super fast, but they were a lot of fun while they lasted. I remember the swirl one and the paw print one and the happy face and the red lips.
This Fancy Toothpaste
Move over, regular toothpaste. This fancy toothpaste comes out of a star-shaped nozzle. It's way more fun to brush your teeth when toothpaste is this cool. Also, it was kind of sparkly.
These Lawn Chairs
These lawn chairs were parked outside of every public pool. Did you go to Florida over winter break? There was probably a chair like this at the pool at your resort.
This Logo
If you saw this logo, it meant that the show was over and you had to go sit down for dinner or start doing your homework. It meant something was ending, but now we kind of like it.
The Old Kit Kat Wrapper
Kit-Kats tasted better in this packaging. Something about that foil just made it taste crisper. Plastic doesn't have the same effect. Bring this back, Kit Kat. People would love it.
The Robot Dogs That Everybody Wanted
If your parents bought you one of these robot dogs, you were one of the lucky kids. Other kids would come over to your house just to play with these things.
I'll Call You After 6
Kids today get an iPhone once they finish kindergarten, but when cell phones first hit the market, you were lucky if your parents thought you needed one. If your crush had a cell phone, you had to sneak these messages to them from your mom's phone and quickly delete the conversation.
I'll Be Taking That
Keeping your things secure in your car is important, so many car stereos made it so you could actually remove the faceplate. That's because without that feature, it was a lot easier to steal your stereo.
