When “Baywatch” was canceled after one year by NBC and moved to first-run syndication, the show’s budget was cut by 30%, so everyone involved had to improvise. A few sets doubled as off-screen rooms for the crew and a lifeguard station served as a break room complete with a mini-gym for workouts.
