Diana was fatally injured in a car crash in Paris. This photo shows her in the doomed auto, looking back toward the paparazzi who were in hot pursuit.
Diana tragically never got to meet her grandchildren, George and Charlotte, who were born in 2013 and 2015, respectively.
On her son Harry’s 21st birthday, he wrote of loss. “Never being able to say the word ‘Mummy’ again in your life sounds like a small thing. However, for many, including me, it’s now really just a word – hollow and evoking only memories.”
