Died at 66 (March 24, 2016)
Comedian and actor Garry Shandling suddenly collapsed at home at age 66, and resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. Just before his death, he reflected upon his friend Robin Williams’ death: “What I want at my funeral is an actual boxing referee to do a count, and at ‘Five’, just wave it off and say, ‘He’s not getting up.'”
Afterward, his close friend and fellow comedian Kathy Griffin posted this photo of the last time she had seen Shandling.
