Thomas Edison
Died at 84 (October 18, 1931)

Called “The Wizard of Menlo Park”, Edison was one of the most prolific inventors in history. Credited with creating lightbulbs, motion picture cameras, and improvements to telegraphs, Edison died of complications of diabetes at his home in West Orange, New Jersey.
Edison’s favorite holiday was the 4th of July, and he made his own fireworks to celebrate the day.
Just prior to his death, Edison had emerged from a coma and said “It is very beautiful over there.”
