Robert F. Kennedy
Died at 42 (June 6, 1968)
The United States Senator and brother of President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Los Angeles in 1968. This photo shows him after he had been shot while exiting a hotel where he had just given a speech. A shocked hotel busboy is cradling Kennedy’s head. Shortly after the picture was taken, Kennedy lost consciousness. He died early the following morning.
Kennedy’s assassin was Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Palestinian immigrant who is now serving a life sentence at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego.
