Penn State Tall Tales

The Penn State legend is also a true story. In 1969, 22-year-old Betsy Aardsma was in the library working on a paper. Later that night, she was found collapsed onto the ground. Two unidentified men told the library clerk that “someone better go help that girl,” before they left and were never seen again.
At first, people believed that Aardsma suffered a seizure since there was no blood and she was wearing red. But an autopsy found that Aardsma was stabbed in the chest, probably from behind as there were no defensive wounds on her hands or arms. Since there was no supporting evidence to the case, it remains unsolved to this very day.
